Global expertise, local production

Serving northwest Africa since 2017, Nigeria has been an important part of our global production network which spans India, Bangladesh, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Our ultimate goal is to build the local capacity it needs to break down the barriers that prevent communities from improving their own sanitation and hygiene.

According to UNICEF, 73.5% of the population uses contaminated water and live with poor sanitation facilities. We believe our award-winning toilets and handwashing solution can serve as the foundation for change.

Our work in Nigeria

We are working with partners to scale up our distribution and manufacturing efforts to increase the availability of our award-winning toilet and tap products in the country. These efforts include training the next generation of highly skilled masons throughout Nigeria, ensuring they are equipped to install SATO toilets in their communities.

Among our most successful masons are Amara Nwoye and Kenechukwu Odugu. Since their training, the pair have installed more than 3,035 of our products in their local communities! By equipping local people with the knowledge they need to start and manage successful sanitation businesses, we are not only establishing sanitation supply chains, but also promoting improved health and contributing to economic growth in the communities where we operate.
