At SATO, we believe everyone deserves access to safe and dignified sanitation and hygiene. In Kenya, we’re working tirelessly to make this a reality through innovative and affordable solutions, local partnerships, and community engagement. Our success in the country is deeply rooted in collaboration:
SILAFRICA: this licensing agreement enables local production and distribution of SATO products, making them more accessible and affordable for Kenyan communities.
Vmart and ADARSH LIMITED make our products available where customers are.
With UNICEF Kenya and the Ministry of Health, we’re introducing and scaling up sanitation solutions in regions like Kitui and Siaya Counties.
SATO is working to improve sanitation in Kenya, focusing on inclusivity and innovation. Key projects include the School Toilet Enhancement Programme (STEP), upgrading toilets in over 110 schools and impacting over 60,000 students. We also focus on accessible sanitation solutions, particularly for people with disabilities, with specially designed toilet models. SATO utilizes innovative technology like the SATO pan, which features odor reduction, insect prevention, and user-friendly design. Empowerment of women is another key focus, with training programs for female sales agents, artisans, and masons. SATO’s overall goals include expanding access to safe sanitation, promoting hygiene education, and advocating for sustainable solutions.
