At SATO, we’re passionate about transforming sanitation and hygiene for communities across Rwanda. Our journey here has been nothing short of inspiring.

Our Commitment to Collaboration

We believe that partnerships are the key to creating lasting change. That’s why we’ve teamed up with UNICEF and the National Child Development Agency (NCDA) to provide 10,000 SATO pans and taps to Home-Based Early Childhood Development (HECD) centers across 17 districts in Rwanda. Together, we’ve improved sanitation and hygiene for more than 194,568 children and their families, giving them a healthier start in life.

Improving School Sanitation

Education is the foundation of every thriving community, and proper sanitation in schools is critical. Through our collaboration with Water for People and the Isoko y’Ubuzima project, we’ve installed 1,400 SATO pans in schools across Rulindo District. These upgraded facilities are making schools safer, cleaner, and more conducive to learning.

Empowering Local Entrepreneurs

I take great pride in our efforts to empower local shop owners and small traders. By training them to supply and install our innovative products, we’re not only making quality sanitation more accessible but also boosting local economies. These entrepreneurs are the heart of our mission, helping us bring sustainable solutions to every corner of Rwanda.

• Marie, a mother of three from the Ruhango district, shares: “Before we had the SATO toilet, my children often fell sick due to poor sanitation. Since we installed the SATO toilet, there have been fewer illnesses, and we feel safer and more comfortable at home.”
